Delete Your Account

How to delete your thepour account and the data associated with it. thepour is operated by Intent Studios LLC, based in Cary, Illinois.

01Delete your account in the app

The fastest way is in the app itself, and it takes effect immediately:

• Open Profile.
• Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
• Type DELETE in the confirmation box, then tap Delete Account again.

This is permanent and cannot be undone. Your account is deleted straight away — there is nothing to wait for and no request to approve.

02Or ask us by email

If you can't get into the app, we'll do it for you:

• Email help@thepour.ai from the email address associated with your thepour account.
• Use the subject line "Delete my account."
• We'll confirm the request comes from your account's email address, then delete your account and its data.

We process verified requests promptly and email you to confirm once deletion is complete.

03What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes everything we hold about you in our live systems:

• Your account and login — your email address and credentials.
• Your bar and inventory.
• Your pantry.
• Your drink history, including ratings and tasting notes.
• Your saved and favorited recipes.
• Your party plans and keg recipes.
• Your notification tokens, so we can no longer send to your device.

Deleting in the app also clears thepour's data from the device you are using — your saved preferences, and anything cached locally.

Bottle photos used for photo recognition are never stored on our servers, so there is nothing to delete there. Neither is anything you say to Vesper: your messages are sent to generate a reply and are not kept by us.

04What happens after, and what lingers

Deletion from our live database is immediate. When you delete in the app, your account and its rows are gone by the time the screen closes — there is no queue and no waiting period. An emailed request takes as long as it takes us to verify it is really you, and then the deletion itself is the same immediate operation.

A few things outlive that, and we would rather name them than imply otherwise:

• Database backups. Our database provider keeps automatic backups of the whole database. Your rows persist inside those snapshots until they age out, currently within 8 days, and we cannot selectively erase one account from a backup. They are encrypted, and are only ever used to restore the service after a failure.
• Crash reports. If the app crashed for you, the report is held by our error-monitoring provider for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically. It carries a one-way scrambled version of your account ID, never your email address.
• Voice replies. When Vesper speaks, the text of her reply is sent to our text-to-speech provider to generate the audio. We ask the provider not to keep it, but it may retain that text in our account history for a period. It is Vesper's words rather than your messages, though a reply can refer to what you asked, and it is not linked to your account.
• Email delivery logs. Our email provider keeps a record that account emails were sent to your address, for a limited period, as any mail service does.
• Records we are required to keep. We may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms. Anything kept for these purposes is held only as long as necessary and then deleted. We may also keep aggregated or anonymized information that no longer identifies you.
